Financial Controller
Swindon, (Hybrid)
£65,000 to £72,000 per annum
I am exclusively partnering with my client to recruit a Financial Controller for a newly created role, aligned to specific international revenue streams. This position is key to driving the company’s financial growth and ensuring the centralisation of financial and management services, with a strong focus on commercial decision support. The role will report directly to the European CFO and will operate in a hybrid working model based in Swindon.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Control: Manage and report on Profit & Loss, Balance Sheets, and oversee reconciliations.
- Monthly Reporting: Deliver accurate monthly reports to HQ on time.
- Local Accounts & VAT: Coordinate local accounting, VAT declarations, and statistics with external tax advisors.
- Planning & Forecasting: Lead in financial planning, including forecasting, budgeting, and long-term objectives.
- Annual Accounts: Prepare annual financial statements in compliance with local GAAP and IFRS standards.
- Cost Analysis & Variance Management: Monitor departmental costs, analyse discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.
- Business Insights: Provide financial analysis to support strategic decisions, including examining margins, KPIs, and value streams.
- Business Partnering: Build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to guide strategic decisions.
- Risk Management: Manage internal risk processes and minimize trade finance credit risk.
- Project Accounting: Oversee project-related financial reporting activities for accuracy.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Ensure smooth operations for accounts payable and receivable functions.
- International Trade & Sales Support: Initially, focusing on supporting international trade, managing orders and sales received from different agents across multiple countries. Including order management to minimize credit risk and gathering financial data related to exports from multiple factory site operations.
- Documentary Credits/Letters of Credit (LCs): Experience with and understanding of Documentary Credits and LCs relating to international trade transactions.
- Joint Ventures (JVs): Work closely with JVs to gather financial data and ensure consistency in financial management across the business.

About You:
- Experience: Previous experience in international trade and Trade Finance is essential, including working with Documentary Credits/LCs and managing credit risk.
- Qualifications: CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or qualified by experience.
- Skills: Strong Excel and analytical skills, with a solid understanding of systems.
